To kick off this week's post, I want to be sure to recognize today is the BEST day all year - Easter! Clint and I have had an INCREDIBLE week. Most importantly on this Easter Sunday, we went to church and celebrated Jesus Christ our risen savior! It is because of Him that we are able to experience this incredible miracle of pregnancy and a baby boy in just a few short weeks. It's so easy to lose sight of the meaning of Easter and what it means for our lives, but today, we slowed down and spent a wonderful day together.
I guess you could say I've been in full on nesting mode. Ensuring I have all the necessities for my hospital bag, freezer meals stocked (check out this awesome list from Thriving Home), baby nursery organized and cleaned, the list is endless! Pinterest and Lucie's List have been my go-tos for direction on where to start and where to find helpful blogs for advice.
How far along? 36 Weeks
Vegetable equivalent (according to What to Expect iPhone app): Honeydew
Total weight gain/loss: 26
lbs. - The swelling and water weight is in full effect and it's uncomfortable. My hands have been hurting this week, and absolutely no rings fit anymore. I am SO excited for the day I can put my wedding and engagement rings back on!
Maternity clothes? Same as last week. My wardrobe keeps dwindling.
Best moment this week: Our co-workers threw us a surprise baby
shower at work on Friday. It was such a blast to celebrate with both the
teams we work with and Baby Borm is stocked when it comes to diapers!
We work with some incredibly thoughtful and generous people (and
talented photographers!), that's for sure. Look at these fun pics!
Miss Anything: Salmon sashimi - we had sushi this week and I saw it on the menu and my mouth watered!
Movement: Yes, but not as frequent, I read this is because he's starting to run out of room. I still make sure I can feel 10 movements in an hour though, and he's definitely meeting that quota.
Food cravings: Starbucks turkey bacon (but I take out the turkey bacon) reduced fat breakfast sandwich. This has been one of my go-tos for as long as they've carried them, but this week I got it a LOT more :)
Anything making you queasy or sick: No sickness, just aches and pains.
Labor Signs: Still Braxton Hicks contractions. This week at the doctor's office we will also find out if there are any other signs of labor.
Belly Button in or out? Flat but still not an outie.
Wedding rings on or off? Still off :(
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy and excited. Clint and I have started to walk almost every day too, and that bit of moving really helps me still stay active and keep my energy levels up. I also did a 30 minute elliptical workout today which felt awesome. The more I move and keep my mind off my swollen body, the better I feel :)
Weekly Wisdom: It's just fun to share in our excitement with our family and friends in general. We have so many great moms and dads around us, I'm thankful we have them to seek advice from now and when Baby Borm gets here.
Looking forward to: Baby Borm's arrival, of course!
