This week was all about getting back in the groove of things after being gone for 10 days. I had my 28th birthday celebration with my girlfriends at Boca Kitchen Bar & Market in South Tampa, which I highly recommend and headed to the beach with Clint for a grouper sandwich from Frenchy's and to walk in the sand.
Given the exciting year ahead, I tried to really put some thought into my New Year's Resolutions this year. One of them included going to the beach at least once a month given we live so close to it. It's so easy to take it for granted when you live in Florida, but being an Ohio girl, I remember all too well the yearly 20 hour drive my family was willing to take to spend a week by the beach. When you live in Florida and work in Florida it can start to feel less like a vacation destination if you let it.
As for the baby bump process, here ya go!
How far along? 21 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 5 lbs! Now that I'm fully healthy again and kicked the cold virus, I've been able to keep some weight on. About a two pound gain this week is progress if I do say so! I'd like to stay closer to a one pound gain a week moving forward though.
Maternity clothes?: Same as before, haven't purchased anything new for the maternity wardrobe lately. My friend Lauren was so kind to let me borrow about two big stacks of clothes from her maternity wardrobe. Swapping with friends is the way to go!
Stretch marks? Still no thankfully.
Sleep: I've been more tired this week and low back pain has started. I'm convinced baby is going through a growth spurt.
Best moment this week: Brunch with friends and other birthday celebrations with my mom and Clint.
Miss Anything? Any type of nice cheese like blue cheese or brie cheese. When you are an almost- vegetarian and you can't eat those, it makes it pretty difficult to order off a menu.
Movement: This week he has been rocking and rolling. At one point I was laying down and I am convinced he did a somersault. I was afraid my stomach was being stretched to its limit and could feel it peak and then level out again. It's the strangest but coolest feeling to know he's moving inside me.
Food cravings: OJ and just happy to have a normal appetite back in general. The cherry cravings are still there - we stopped at DQ for a cone and I got mine dipped in cherry. It was absolutely perfect!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Public bathrooms still really gross me out. My sense of smell is so much stronger so I still gag from time to time with strong smells (gross I know!)
Have you started to show yet: Yes! Finally a saleswoman in Nordstrom asked me when I was due (I was in the baby clothes section though.)
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? In but my husband says it looks flatter.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: This week I've just felt very fortunate. Clint and I have been blessed beyond measure. We have so much to be thankful for and so many supportive people in our lives, there have been moments this week I've wanted to pinch myself. It's amazing when so many dreams I had growing up are coming true and I have such an amazing man by my side.
Weekly Wisdom: Don't worry about every little thing (like I do!)
Looking forward to: Painting and decorating the nursery now that we've chosen bedding and a paint color.
