30 Weeks Pregnant and My Tips for Traveling

This week I took what I think is one of my last trips for work before the baby comes. Traveling prior to the third trimester was a breeze - but my last three flights have been anything but due to my larger belly and the stress of travel. I have three tips I recommend for women who are traveling while pregnant I've recently learned:
1. Pack your snacks: And pack them before you leave the house. Delays at the airport happen and you don't know how much time you'll have at the terminal, so grab a few options to store in your bag: apples, granola bars and a peanut butter sandwich are my go-tos. The protein and fiber keep you full during the flight so you don't reach for the junk or candy mid-flight.
2. Wear comfortable clothes: Flowy maternity dresses have been my preferred wardrobe for traveling. The waistbands of maternity pants can dig in at different places while you are sitting for long periods of time and make them pretty uncomfortable. I also choose flats - never heels - so I can walk comfortably through the airport.
3. CHOOSE THE AISLE SEAT: This is a big one. I had to get up twice during a flight from Atlanta to Tampa and thank goodness I was in the aisle seat. Since the third trimester started, the urgency to pee is REAL. As soon as I stand up, I need to pee NOW. So, it makes it a lot easier on your fellow travelers if you are on the aisle seat so they don't have to get up with you.
4. Have a sense of humor: People say some very strange things while you are pregnant. This last trip I took I had one TSA agent ask how far along I was, and when I replied said, "Are you sure you aren't having twins?" MMhmm. Another woman asked if I could bring the baby back when he was born so she could be his airport mom. Everyone has good intentions (I'm assuming) so I've chosen to laugh at some of the comments I got when waddling through the airport.

On to the update!

How far along? 30 Weeks
Vegetable equivalent (according to What to Expect iPhone app): Butternut squash
Total weight gain/loss:  16  lbs. I can feeling my appetite slowing down.
Maternity clothes? Yes of course :) I'm thankful we have some warmer weather that maxi dresses work on the weekends.
Best moment this week: Our 30 week check up was great! I'm so thankful that our baby is healthy, 3.4 pounds currently and we got to hear his very strong heartbeat again. He was a little stubborn at the ultrasound and wouldn't give us a good profile picture, but since we recently had our 4-D ultrasound, I was okay with that,
Miss Anything? Clint and I went to sushi this week, I really wish I could have ordered some sashimi. Less than 10 weeks and I can ...
Movement: Yes, and now we know what the movements are! I know his butt is up by my ribs (I feel that all the time) and his little elbows are hitting me on the other side.
Food cravings: Orange juice, apples and frozen yogurt again :)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Yes - I had a few days this week I was extremely nauseous (probably from traveling).
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? Flat.
Wedding rings on or off? On during the day.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Excited to meet him and anxious that we still have so much to do in preparation for him.
Weekly Wisdom: My mom has been my saving grace with the questions I've had so far. She's so patient and knows me so well, sometimes she just says, it's going to be okay you'll be great!
Looking forward to: The Babymoon is just a few days away, I can't wait to relax in the spa with Lane :)
